Volunteer for a JA in a Day!

Volunteer today for a JA in a Day!

When: TBD
Where: TBD

Junior Achievement provides all the materials you need for a fun-filled day of activities. (We will set up a time to provide a short training on how to use the JA materials.)

You will lead fun activities around money, needs/wants, the importance of saving, giving, and work, and the importance of staying in school.

Take this opportunity to lead a classroom independently or pair up with another colleague or friend and help inspire younger students to succeed!

Questions You May Have About Volunteering for a “JA in a Day”

What do I present in the classroom?

The Junior Achievement curriculum is designed to teach students in grades K-12 about our economy focusing on three main pillars: financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship. Lessons are interactive and designed to be fun! You’ll receive a complete kit from JA with all the age-appropriate materials needed to have a successful teaching experience. There is no previous teaching experience required to be an effective volunteer, your life experience is what we need.

When will I be teaching Junior Achievement lessons?

All lessons will be taught during classroom instruction time and students will attend their specials (i.e. gym, art, music) and lunch as scheduled. Volunteers will have a break from instruction while students are at specials and lunch. The classroom teacher will be in the room at all times to assist the volunteer with the JA lessons, oversee the classroom schedule, and manage the classroom.

What training do I need?

We require all new volunteers to attend a one-time only training 1-2 weeks prior to the “JA in a Day” date where we go over a brief overview of Junior Achievement, what we expect of volunteers, classroom management techniques, and have you sign up for the school/classroom we have available.
